Exchange visit from Hungary
From March 19 to 25, an exchange stay of Hungarian students took place at our school. Seventh- and eighth-graders hosted the guests at their homes, and in return they will live with families during a project meeting at a bilingual school in Budapest in May.
Students from other classes also participated in the morning and afternoon program. On Monday, Šimon and Sofie showed the guests around the school, country presentations and ice-breakers took place. In the afternoon, the international group visited the center of Ostrava and the observation tower at the town hall. On Tuesday, the students explored new technologies, in the afternoon they visited the leaning church of St. Peter from Alkantara near Karviná and the mining museum near Landek. On Wednesday, pupils from 7.D, , 8.D, 8.B, and 9.D went to Prague together with their guests. On Thursday, international groups searched for information about Prague monuments and solved quizzes. In the afternoon, students experimented in the Great World of Technology in Dolní Vítkovice. On Friday, after the tour of the ZOO, there was a demonstration of folk dances and pupils learnt Mazurek dance. The participants received their certificates and the project meeting was over.
