Erasmus+ week in Poland

19.10.2023

Nine students from 9.B and one from 9.D took part in the Erasmus+ project in the end of school (June 19 – 25). They travelled by train to Gdansk and stayed in apartments. This project week challenged their ability to take care of themselves as they planned their menu and then cooked breakfast and dinner for themselves every day. Of course, they cleaned the kitchen too.

This team worked together with students from engineering school from Gdynia. The objective was to create a mobile phone application "Gdansk postcards". It consisted of a photo gallery with places of interests from Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, etc. The Polish students took part in coding and the Czech students learnt to use GIMP program, visited interesting places, took photos, picked the best ones, prepared them for the application and sent them to the Polish students. Then they looked up information, chose the most important and interesting things and wrote a short description of each photo in English. Finally, they sent this information to the Polish students and checked the result. This work was not finished during the project week and students carried on their work when they returned back to school.

In order to take the original photos, our students visited Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Hell, the centre of Kaszuba nation in Szymbark. They learnt a lot about the modern history, traditions, culture, diversity, wildlife, and environment. Students improved their ability to speak and write in English, to use digital tools and cooperate in international teams.
