Erasmus+ meeting in Portugal

A group of six students represented our school at the international meeting of the Erasmus+ KA229 "Sustainable Development: Possible Solutions" project from February 27 to March 3. A rich program which focused on renewable energy sources was prepared by a school from the city of Beja. Other participants were from Finland, France and Greece. Pupils made tiles with traditional Portuguese motifs using the Azulejos technique, visited the floating solar power plant near the city of Cuba, the largest dam in Europe with hydropower plant and floating solar power plant in Aqueva, the historic town of Monteraz, biological science laboratories and university in Beja, the old pyrit ore mine and museum in Lousal, the thermal power plant in Sinas, the seaside village of Porto Covo. Mixed international teams experimented with photovoltaic batteries in school laboratories. They went to Environmental Educational Center Vale Goncalinho to observe birds and investigate what owl eat from their pellets in the laboratory. Participants received their certificates during a gala dinner with treats prepared by our hosts. Our pupils had also an oportunity to explore the sights of Lisbon and visit the famous oceanarium.
